C3IA Technologies partners with Nokia Defense to advance integrated defence communications

C3IA Technologies is pleased to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nokia Defense to collaborate on secure, resilient communications capabilities for UK defence.

The agreement brings together Nokia Defense’s advanced connectivity portfolio with C3IA Technologies’ expertise in defence communications, systems engineering, capability integration and security. Together, the companies will work to support the integration of modern communications technologies into wider operational environments.

Nokia Defense provides secure, mission-ready connectivity designed for demanding defence environments. Drawing on Nokia’s global expertise across fixed, mobile and transport networks, its portfolio includes private 4G and 5G, IP and optical networking, data centre connectivity, and technologies designed to extend resilient communications from headquarters to the tactical edge.

C3IA Technologies brings specialist experience in mobile and deployable communications, systems engineering and integration, with a focus on turning individual technologies into secure, interoperable capability that can operate effectively alongside wider communications systems and infrastructure.

The collaboration will explore opportunities across tactical and operational communications, private 4G and 5G networks, command and control, situational awareness, sensing, autonomous systems and edge computing.

As defence operations become increasingly connected and data-driven, the ability to securely connect people, platforms, sensors and information is becoming ever more important. Effective communications capability is central to getting the right information to the right people at the right time, helping create the decision advantage needed in complex operational environments.

By combining Nokia’s advanced connectivity technologies with C3IA’s defence experience and integration expertise, the two companies aim to support the delivery of resilient, interoperable communications capabilities that address real operational requirements.

Nokia Defense’s technologies support secure information sharing and connectivity across land, air, maritime, cyber and space domains, helping meet the growing demands created by sensors, autonomous systems and other data-intensive platforms.

The collaboration also builds on the companies’ places on the UK Ministry of Defence Tactical Communication Systems (TacSys) framework, across Lots 1 and 3, supporting future tactical communications requirements.

The MOU reflects C3IA Technologies’ wider approach of working with leading technology providers to bring together complementary technologies and expertise around specific customer and operational needs.
