Ian Fowler

Public & Private Sector Account Manager

Ian joined C3IA in October 2023, having retired from the Royal Corps of Signals after 30 years of service. During his time in the British Army, he gained both Chartered Engineer and Chartered Manager status, but it was his experience in Information Assurance and Cyber Defence that caused the mutual interest between him and C3IA; “I’ve always been aware of the work that C3IA conduct with the Army and have found the people who work for the company to be of the highest quality”. After 6 months, Ian took over as the Specialist Services Manager and has now progressed to be the Public (Non-Defence) and Private Account Manager. This part of the business includes managing the team responsible for Cyber Essentials, Vulnerability Assessments, Penetration Tests and other activities which fall outside of the more usual consultancy activities the company undertakes.

In a typical day, Ian can be found dealing with client requests, drafting proposals or collating information for the business. He is kept busy with the wide range of activities that are supported by his team; “I am in constant awe of just what the team can throw themselves at and the polished results that they produce”.

Ian is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Chartered Institute of Information Security and is in the process of applying for Chartered Cyber Security Professional status. When he’s not at work, Ian loves to watch his cherished Gloucester Rugby team, no matter what their current form is! He’s also a bit of a geek, so don’t be surprised if you see Star Wars or Marvel memorabilia in the background when you’re on a Teams call with him.
